Hi Matt,

Re: NuPIC Challenge (new Hackathon format)

I love the idea! It will be so much more beneficial to the community and
technology to afford participants more time! That is such a good idea!

I have one suggestion toward leveling the playing field for remote and
local participant demo exhibition. What if all participants filmed their
demos rather than just the remote peeps? That way the judges can only use
the videos for review which will put everyone on an equal playing field.
The presentation portion of the "event" can just be playing all of the
submissions on a "big screen". This would also unify the gallery posting
process because all you (or whoever will put these up in the gallery) will
have to do is directly post all submissions rather than gather the remote
ones and record the onsite ones?

Re: The Video Log format of Community Updates

I think that format is useful for clarity when there are lots of details
surrounding an "update" - otherwise I don't see the reason for preference
between the video log and an email or blog posting. (Not that I don't enjoy
seeing your beautiful face in video format :-P) - If its easier for you to
do, than go for it - or if you think it will help galvanize community focus
on new events - go for it...
