I'm glad you guys like the NuPIC Challenge format change. I think we'll get much more impressive hacks out of it.

I really like the energy of hackathon demos when done in front of a live audience. I think it would be great if people wanted to both upload a video and present at the on-site event, but I don't want to sacrifice the chance for live discussion, judging, and interaction that happens at hackathon demos. Also, if we don't do live demos, what is the point of the on-site? It feels like the demos are the "main event" after a month of work. Maybe others have opinions? But I'm partial to keeping the on-site demo format, even if it puts remote hacks at a disadvantage.
