Greetings Earthlings (and otherwise affiliated) :-)

For the Numenta HTM Challenge, I am creating an app called Nostromo which
is a Geospatial Tracking application much like the one created for NuPIC -
except that it will be self-contained:

1. no separate server component and browser needed
2. launched on any platform (it is JavaFX after all)
3. executes route handling and mapping and HTM integration all in one
button push
4. all the above by pointing at a file containing routes or routes created
by hand in the APP!
5. written using HTM.java

and since it is using a custom mapping API, we can add new features to it
that don't currently exist in its predecessor...

In order to do this (as mentioned above) a mapping API will be created
first (since a complete one that does what is needed, doesn't currently
exist - see FXMaps here: https://github.com/cogmission/FXMaps

If there are any cracker-jack Java programmers out there interested in
either helping with the Mapping API creation or adding to it -- or --
interested in creating a team for the HTM Challenge, you are most welcome!

I already have the foundations of the Mapping API complete (another 2 days
maybe) - and will be integrating it into an app for the HTM Challenge
project (Nostromo) after that... The code isn't posted yet on either
Nostromo or FXMaps, but it is going up in the next two days so at the very
least you can watch the app being made and comment on it in the HTM.java
gitter room! (All comments and suggestions are welcome!)
https://gitter.im/numenta/htm.java

If there is enough time, I would also like to take a stab at the
GeospatialClassifier (see the discussion here at 56min (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZBtaP_gcn0&feature=youtu.be&t=56m5s) -
This is the primary reason for seeking a team to help with this Challenge
project so that I can have the time to develop the new classifier so that
we can do route prediction also!

As an added note to all contributors, the FXMaps API is open source and
free (as in free beer), but Nostromo is open source and gifted to
Numenta.org to promote HTM technology and assist with the forwarding of
that effort. Any contributors will need to keep this in mind! :-)

Please drop by the gitter chat room to add your comments and cheer us on,
or watch the associated projects to use the code in your own projects!

Cheers,
David
