As commented in the replica discussion at https://github.com/networkupstools/nut/issues/2951 my immediate suspicion is about non-ASCII description from `ups.conf` confusing the parser. Logs from the driver start-up attempts (probably as `systemctl status nut-drver@innova`) would show more.
