Ok, i raised the permissions to 0660 and did the following...

debug level is '5'
Mustek PowerMust UPS, or compatible, not detected.

Looking at this, I'd say that there's nothing on the other end of the cable... I can only assume that there is either a problem with the UPS, or the techy hasn't plugged it in properly.

I will have to make a plan to go to the client myself.
