locate newhidups
/lib/nut/newhidups
/usr/share/man/man8/newhidups.8.gz
no executable newhidups file

Don't be disturbed by the path name. /lib/nut/newhidups is an
executable even if in the /lib directory

so launch "/lib/nut/newhidups -DD -u root -x generic -x vendorid=0d9f auto"
and post the result.
