The /lib/nut/newhidups is the driver. So try /lib/nut/newhidups -DD -u root -x vendorid=0d9f auto That should try to identify the ups. I run Gentoo. If you use the portage this is the normal directory for the drivers. nut-2.0.4 is in portage, so you may unmask it and get some new code.
