Just a feedback: on gentoo I had to upgrade to kernel 2.6.27 in order to make it all working. I was still on 2.6.25. And on ubuntu 8.10 I was on 2.6.27. I think something related to usb controller driver, but can't figure out exactly what. Anyway, everything is working now. Thanks in again!
