Of course - I'll be more than happy to test any changes...As this is a
very new device - I'm surprised that it does not respond as expected..
Could it be that Tripplite are changing some aspects of the protocol?

The driver maintainer is finally back from an interesting place with
slow and expensive Internet connectivity.
I assume we can add some code to just not report battery charge if
that call fails. However, I won't be able to test much since I only
have access to a 1001-protocol unit which *does* respond to B.
