Dear all,
I have an old ESV8 UPS down here, and I did code patching years ago to
support old model on nut.
But, I got some bad effect, like Debian bug you mentionned on your email.
Would be difficult for me to gain access to an ESV8+, but we can work
together to test.
I can make some test, but I need more information. Could you send me
your debug log?
Martin

Dear Sirs,
Hi Ivo,
I have an old but very well-working UPS MGE Pulsar ESV8+ Rack. I'd
like to use it to power FreeBSD 9.0-Rel server.
Of fortunately I have problem with recommended driver - mge-utalk,
nut 2.6.4 (installed from FreeBSD Ports).
I get messages:
Could not get multiplier table: using raw readings.
and
updateinfo: Cannot update system status
I saw similar thread on mailing list with no exact answer.
My ups.conf file reads:
[mge]
driver = mge-utalk
port = /dev/cuau0
desc = "Pulsar ESV"
pollinterval = 20
I also attach zipped output from
mge-utalk -DDDDD -a mge
To verify my UPS, RS232 cable and computer COM port I installed
Eaton Personal Solution Pack for Windows. It works very well with
hte UPS.
Thanks in advance for your help!
I've a Debian bug report on which I need to get back for... 4 years :-/
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=498655
the main issue is that I don't have access to UTalk devices anymore.
so would you be able to test patches and send me back outputs?
cheers,
Arnaud
