http://cephas.net/blog/2004/06/09/introducing_jsearch.html It is, obviously, a different flavour of the crawler+indexer+searcher beast, but I thought you might be interested in creating an Admin/Control/Dashboard GUI similar to that in jSearcher (link above has screen shots) for Nutch. You may also want to check out Egothor. I believe Leo & David Weiss (on the list) created some nice webapp-based GUIs for their Capek robot.
