Is there anything that folks feel we need before we can make a 1.0 release? I think Nutch is getting pretty usable, and think a 1.0 release might encourage more folks to use it.
More documentation is always needed. If you have a chance, please add what you've learned about Nutch to the wiki at:
http://www.nutch.org/cgi-bin/twiki/view/Main/Nutch
This is a great way to for folks to give back to the Nutch project.
I want ease of installation, configuration and operation to be a focus of Nutch 2.0 development. It should be possible to simply install an RPM, then visit a configuration page at http://localhost/ to set URL filters and crawl parameters. After that, everything should run automatically, including incremental re-crawls, etc.
Cheers,
Doug
