If Nutch chooses to join ASF, some work will have to be done to prepare Nutch for the move. One thing to change will be the license, which is very much like the ASL 2.0 license.

A majority of committers support the move.
I have also presented this issue to Nutch's board, and they also support the move. Once the move to Apache is complete, we will disband the non-profit Nutch organization.
Another thing is that any GPLed code/jars will have to be separated from the core Nutch. This is something that some of you have already brought up - separation of core Nutch and the plugins.
Yes, we need to go through the lib/ and src/plugin/*/lib directories and check the license of each jar file. Could someone volunteer to write up an inventory of these, with licenses? Thanks.
