Well, you can write a own webservice as well one php client and a
java / jsp service as well for this.
Anyway I do not know the php java bridge, but I made with all native
java invocation mechanisms like jni very bad experience.
If you will get it once to run, it will crash under load in
production at least most jni code I ever had seen.
Sorry, I can't help and the answer to your question is no nutch does
not use gcj.
May think about write your complete ui in jsp, since the step from
php to jsp isn't big.
