configuring hadoop with nutch

Assuming the fact that Nutch is running under Hadoop platform, i would like
to know if i have to follow the Hadoop Quick
Start<http://hadoop.apache.org/core/docs/r0.19.0/quickstart.html>guide
before configuring Nutch.
