Summary: nwamadm exiting with a validation error
Classification: Development
Product: nwam
Version: unspecified
Platform: ANY/Generic
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
Status Whiteboard: nwam1-build:2009-05-14
Severity: major
Priority: P2
Component: CLI
AssignedTo: nwam-dev at opensolaris.org
ReportedBy: dkenny at opensolaris.org
QAContact: nwam-dev at opensolaris.org
Created an attachment (id=1990)
--> (http://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/attachment.cgi?id=1990)
/etc/nwam contents.
I was running nwamadm interact -v, and while waiting for a WLAN scan to occur,
I got the following error, and it exited:
nwamadm: event handling stopped: validation of entity failed
This seemed to happen immediately after a wlan scan had been done, and it for
some reason refreshed the WLAN objects.
I'm attaching the following files:
- etc_nwam.tgz - Compressed tar of the /etc/nwam directory
- nwamamd-interact.log - output of nwamadm interact -v
- nwamd.log - debug logs from nwamd (and other daemons).
BTW, I was able to reproduce this twice by doing :
- In one window, running nwam interact -v
- In another window, typing "svcadm refresh"
and then waiting for the next WLAN scan.
Note that nwamd continued to run and didn't crash, only the CLI exited
unexpectedly.
