Summary: need to finalize wifi key naming/selection policy
Classification: Development
Product: nwam
Version: unspecified
Platform: ANY/Generic
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
Status Whiteboard: wam1-build:2009-04-23
Severity: minor
Priority: P4
Component: ON daemon
AssignedTo: nwam-dev at opensolaris.org
ReportedBy: alan.maguire at sun.com
QAContact: nwam-dev at opensolaris.org
in phase 0(.5) wifi keys were named nwam-essid-bssid. Phase 1 is an
ESSID-centric world (though it will not autoconnect to an ESSID if the BSSID
has not already been visited in strict BSSID mode, as in phase 0.5). Need to
determine if we should just name keys for ESSID. What do we lose? Also, in
cases of multiple key match (in the ESSID+BSSID naming model), what do we do -
connect to all? Seems more straightforward to name via ESSID only. To handle
old keys, when connecting and a key is needed, we can walk secobjs finding ones
that match ESSID prefix - then we can migrate them to an ESSID-only name.
