Hmmmm, I think they would chain. CandidateUser could be a factory for 
ValidatedCandidates, and ValidatedCandidate for UserAccount. The factory method 
on CandidateUser would depend on a validator, and the factory method on 
ValidatedCandidate would depend on a service to check for username uniqueness.
