Yeah; the talker does say he was making a point on the wider community.
(on his twitter account etc)
Would be great to know who has blogs here? I know I don't really blog
about ruby. Feels like you'd get shouted at.
Some context for others - this was on my reading list for a bit:

(Doubt I'll ever have the time to watch the keynote, mentioned at the
bottom of the blog)
I also saw this good debate (not finished watching)

Made me think DHH is almost like the latest addition to the 3 amigos.
Quite a mature debate :)
For me, I love the idea of testing. I find it way easier to do in
pairs. But I rarely see rubyists advocating pairing in these parts, so
presume most find it fine to do solo. I still would like to back to
Cucumber/Gherkin at some point, as I found it motivated to test more,
and I found I had less code to debug :) I'm aware that I'm probably the
only person bar perhaps Ash that this may apply to.

This was my feeling too.

Too much attacking of DHH and too much tone policing (what DHH says is
OK, but he swears and that is wrong).

There may be a wider point being made about celebrity in the ruby
communities, but I doubt it. You don't say "Don't idolise DHH, idolise
this nice person" if it's about celebrity.

I may be missing something but it makes me a bit sad that everyone
thinks the talk is somehow great. If I were DHH and I heard this - I'd
be utterly gutted.

Also - The "Big letters that just say what I'm saying" presentation was
just weird. If you don't need slides - Don't use slides.

I didn't think the talk was great, I thought it was far too ad-hominem
