I know the 1000 has the modem and pppoe built in in case you ever have to use it as a dialup point to connect a bunch of clients to an ISP. Not sure if the 1100 still does.
I use the 1000. Whatever you do get, don't bother with their Java client and all that installing. Just get the AP manager software and use it- much easier.
