That's correct about the VTech phone. Similary, many '2.4ghz phones' actually use a combo of 900mhz and 2.4ghz.
Uniden is sending me the brand new TRU5885 for my group to review. They're billing it as 'the only true 5.8ghz phone' as it does transmit AND receive on 5.8ghz.
