That's correct about the VTech phone. Similary, many '2.4ghz phones'
actually use a combo of 900mhz and 2.4ghz.

Uniden is sending me the brand new TRU5885 for my group to review. They're
billing it as 'the only true 5.8ghz phone' as it does transmit AND receive
on 5.8ghz. Of course it will be interesting to see how nice it plays with
802.11a

Actually this phone uses both 2.4ghz and 5.8ghz.

5.8ghz  base station to phone
and 2.4ghz phone to base station.
