Hey,

Hope everyone had a happy holiday. I just downloaded and burned Knoppix and
tried running it on my Thinkpad w/ a Orinoco silver card, it didn't detect
and run out of the box as I would have expected (as I read about), I had to
tinker and do the following:

At bootup:
knoppix nopcmcia

Once booted:
sudo su
/etc/init.d/pcmcia start
iwconfig eth0 essid www.nycwireless.net
/etc/pcmcia/network start eth0

I just wanted to see if anyone else had a similar problem with the hw
autodetect stuff (or if Im doing something wrong).

After getting it running it is pretty nice alternative I must say.
