Ralph,

Beware, huh? Have you compared the version on the French Sans-fil site,
to the version that we have posted?

It's identical BONEHEAD. The ONLY difference is, our version is in
English, their's is in French. Nice post, by an ignorant and paranoid
user... sorry that you can't figure out how to get it to work.

All the driver does is "fool" the computer into thinking that the card
is a gold card (so you can re-flash it with new firmware). After that,
you're supposed to download the latest drivers from the Orinoco
website... and replace the drivers with the latest drivers from Orinoco.

What operating system are you using? Have you asked for help? Maybe
you should post a question asking for HELP, instead of posting an
ignorant message saying "BEWARE". Beware of what? Foolish users?

We've flashed several cards using the distro. Trying to re-flash a
card, is NOT for the "weak at heart" or those that don't know what
they're doing. If you don't know what you're doing, you could screw up
your card while doing it. If you stop in the middle of a "reflash" you
could render your card useless. It's not different then re-flashing the
BIOS on your Linksys AP. If you abort the re-flash, you could render
your AP useless (but most AP's have a button to reset the box). But
that doesn't mean that it doesn't work... it's called OPERATOR ERROR.
There are lots of factors in why it may not work, what type of card are
you trying to reflash? Are you trying to reflash an ORIGINAL Orinoco
Silver card? Or an Agere/Avaya/Buffalo card? No, they're NOT all the
same. The driver ONLY works with certain Orinoco cards (that have the
Orinoco firmware on them).

It won't work with Agere, or Avaya cards, or re-badged Dell cards, or
cards with different firmware on them.

It's kinda ignorant to post a message like that to the list. If you're
having a problem, then contact me off-list, instead of posting ignorant
(and false) information to the list.

            Mark

P.S. Send me an E-mail with your phone number, and I'll walk you through
it.

Beware of this particular implementation on the Nextechwireless (Mark
Malewski) site!
Had nothing but trouble after trying it.
I still can't get a version of Client Manager that will now work with
whatever it did to my drivers!
