You should've seen my previous post to the list... Anyway, many cheap cards like the SMC, Belkin, Netgear etc. have "covered" external jacks and spots where external jacks would've been added, but weren't.
Adding jacks to these is called modding and there are a small number of personal modding pages out there. Do a search on Google for 802.11b OR Wi-Fi AND Mod OR Modding (you'll find a smattering) I've started a page at www.geocities.com/wifipccardmod it's just a placeholder, not a real page yet, but check back. Hope that helps. ------------------------------------------------------- Date: Mon, 07 Jul 2003 04:25:58 -0400 From: "johny why" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: [nycwireless] Diversity Antenna? To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" hey y'all In pcmia 802.11 card specs, what's a "Built-In Diversity Antenna"? Does that mean I can plug in a pigtail from an external antenna? Do ALL pcmia cards support external antennas, even if they don't specify in the specs? If not, can anyone recommend any low-cost 802.11b cards?
