Yes, 30 floors sounds like a long shot then.  Shooting a wifi signal 
through 29-ish concrete floors sounds like a longshot, too  ;^)

I'd loan you my powerline adaptors, but I'm in San Francisco.  Maybe 
someone local can give you a couple to play with.
