Sorry, somewhat of confusion here:

I'm going between 3rd floor and basement (total 3 floors). Reference to
30-floor building was to illustrate that HPNA (as suggested by someone) is 
not likely to work because the floors in question are not likely to be on 
the same 110V phase.

Update: At suggestion of a friend, bought two gemtek-systems.com radios 
and 24dBi antennas. If this doesn't work, expect a sale soon ;)
