"Florida Broadband Wireless Security System Invitation To Negotiate Released

TALLAHASSEE, FL, Aug. 9, 2004 - The Florida Department of
Transportation has released an Invitation to Negotiate for a Broadband
Wireless LYNX Security System as part of the iFlorida Model
Deployment. The purpose of the iFlorida Broadband Wireless LYNX
Transit Security System is to design, procure, install and integrate
an audio/video based transit security application with a new broadband
wireless network on 12 Central Florida Regional Transit Authority
(LYNX) buses operating over approximately 14 miles of I-4 between
downtown Orlando and the Walt Disney World attractions area. The
transit application will need to utilize a broadband wireless network
installed along this same corridor to distribute the audio/video from
the buses to existing or new access points on the FDOT I-4 fiber
network."
