Its certainly possible and I haven't ruled out that possibility entirely
(Im using Orinoco Gold cards and the drivers for these on Linux and NetBSD
are pretty mature).

The thing is, I used to be able to lie in bed and get a reliable
connection and I haven't changed anything...
