This upper Manhattan park is situated along the Harlem River at the end of Dyckman St. & 10th Avenue across the island from Fort Tryon Park. Just before 11am a group of 4 *TURKEY VULTURES* were seen heading south with a *RED-SHOULDERED HAWK* tagging along. Two additional Turkey Vultures were seen at 11:35a & 1:35p. Locally, *COOPER'S HAWK* and 4 *RED-TAILED HAWKS*were spotted over the park & west of the Harlem River. Three of the 4 Red-taileds were juveniles and flying together along with at least 1 adult. Eleven new species were added to the park list<http://ebird.org/ebird/GuideMe?reportType=location&bMonth=01&bYear=2010&eMonth=12&eYear=2010&parentState=US-NY&countries=US&states=US-NY&getLocations=myLocs&myLocs=L1018912&continue.x=55&continue.y=15&continue=t>including a male *BELTED KINGFISHER* & 4 *BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS*. Three of the Night-herons were juveniles and were spotted perched in trees along Sherman Creek early on. The most common bird in the park was clearly *AMERICAN GOLDFINCH*. At least 75 were seen feeding well on apparently native plants. I don't know my plants, yet. One *FOX SPARROW* was feeding along the gravel path just west of the boathouse.
