The lunch hour tour was not so active so when I read the email from Matthew
on the bonanza of birds he found after I left I made a point to revisit the
park after work. Here is Matthew's note from 1:19pm today: <
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ebirdsnyc/message/8869 >.

I missed seeing the Orchard Oriole but did pick up a GRAY-CHEEKED THRUSH
feeding on worms in the cracks of the pavement in the cordoned off area in
the southeast section of the park. It had the unmistakable light crescents
behind its eyes, a warm toned tail with little warmth to the coloring on the
head and back. The tail never bobbed like the nearby HERMIT THRUSHES.

The WOOD THRUSH was spotted in the garden bordering the Great "Lawn" along
with the CHIPPING SPARROW mentioned in Matthew's report.
