The Rufous Hummingbird continues at the Beverly Smith Butterfly garden at 
Lenoir Nature Preserve in Yonkers, Westchester County. It now has been present 
each day since last Sunday. It may stick around for a while. Here are the first 
and last dates for the last three Rufous Hummingbirds to visit Lenoir.

Immature male Rufous, Lenoir Nature Preserve November 17, 2001 to January 6, 
2002
Immature female Rufous, Lenoir Nature Preserve October 28, 2002 to November 29, 
2002
Immature female Rufous, Lenoir Nature Preserve November 23, 2006 to January 6, 
2007

If you’d like to see more information of Westchester County’s rarer records. 
For instance, today’s Brown Pelican in Rye would be Westchester’s 2nd accepted 
record. The first record were two birds at Croton Point Park on July 30, 1992.
