Not a rarity by any means but certainly worthy of reporting. Inspired by Tom Fiore's recent post that encouraged "patch birding." Eric Miller, just called in to report that he has found another male Wilson's Warbler (WIWA).
This one, was found near the ball field where a female Painted Bunting was found a few years ago. For those of you familiar with the nomenclature assigned to certain areas in Alley Pond, this would be north of "Andrew's Chat Corner" along the hedgerow at the corner of the path behind the batting cages. (Park in Upper Alley to access this area). This is the second Male Wilson's Warbler to be reported from Queens county. Who knows what other winter hardies/vagrants might be out there. Many thanks to Eric for the report.
