Montezuma National Wildlife Complex (MNWC) and Montezuma Wetlands Complex (MWC)------------ 3/13: A TUNDRA SWAN was seen at Benning Marsh. 3/14: 28 TUNDRA SWANS were seen in the mucklands along Rt.31. Onondaga county------------ 3/9: A PEREGRINE FALCON was seen hunting in Baldwinsville.An ICELAND GULL and a LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL were seen in the Inner Harbor area. 3/10: An ICELAND GULL was again seen at the Inner Harbor area. 3/11: A GOLDEN EAGLE was spotted in Jamesville near the Rt. 481 entrance.A GLAUCOUS GULL and two TUNDRA SWANS were seen in the Inner Harbor area. 13 species of waterfowl were seen in the Seneca River in Baldwinsville. An especially large number of REDHEADS are in the group. Eight to nine CANVASBACKS are present also. Most of the waterfowl are still present today but rising water should drive them out soon. 3/14: A SNOWY OWL was seen at Hancock Airport. A RED-THROATED LOON was seen at the end of the Creek Walk in Onondaga Lake. 3/15: A LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL was seen from Solar Street in the Inner Harbor area. A RED-NECKED GREBE was seen in Onondaga Creed in the Inner Harbor area. 3/16: The RED-THROATED LOON and the RED-NECKED GREBE were seen at the end of the Creek Walk. Oswego county------------ 3/9: A male HARLEQUIN DUCK was found in the Oswego River in the Lock Six area. It was well seen and photographed by many birders and was last seen on 3/13. 3/12: A YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER was seen at Derby Hill. 3/13: A GLAUCOUS GULL was seen at Derby Hill. A RED-THROATED LOON was found in the Oswego River near the power dams. Unfortunately it died the next day. Derby Hill------------ After a slow fist week there was finally some action on the recent warm weather. 9species of raptor have been recorded as migrating. The first RED-SHOULDERED HAWK was counted. Oneida county------------ 3/11: The female HARLEQUIN DUCK was again seen at Delta Lake. 3/14: A GOLDEN EAGLE was seen flying in Camden.
