I guess I'm talking lunch here, after the late start of 1140, arriving on station at about noon ! The weather was glorious, but the birds were few, and far between. Highlights were modest: 2 Red-tailed Hawks; 2 male Belted Kingfishers engaged in aerial combat; singing N.Cardinal, as well as Song Sparrow and a good sized Snapping Turtle, with a carapace that looked to be ~ 15'' side to side !
Reasons for the sentiment expressed in the Subject Line, in addition to the weather were: the flora/fauna are blooming, the main trails are being maintained and the new Muck Boots did not give my troubling feet any trouble !
