About an hour ago (11:45 a.m.), as I was about to turn onto Sound Avenue from
Hallock State Park, a Mississippi Kite flew south with purpose across Sound
Avenue at about fifty feet in height. I turned right onto Sound Avenue, and
then left onto Herricks Lane, and caught up with the bird again as it caught a
thermal and spiraled high while continuing in its southerly direction. Likely
not a chaseable bird, but worth a general "heads up".
