A recent Ash-throated Flycatcher at Central Park in Manhattan, N.Y. City on
October 31st has been confirmed via eBird, with photos also available of that
individual in the Macaulay Library archives. This species has occurred
previously in Central Park and elsewhere in Manhattan both in the eBird era and
earlier in time than the creation of the eBird listing application. No further
reports of the Ash-throated from any later dates have yet to surface, and while
it is possible the bird has remained in the same park or somewhere in
Manhattan, it also is equally possible that bird moved on.

Other confirmations on far less-rare species for New York County lately have
also come thru, most or all others of ongoing species or individuals already
reported thru eBird and some via this listserver.

Good birding to all,

Tom Fiore
