I just use KVM or Virtual Box (both free and open source) on Linux with a single install of Windows XP replicated with IE6 on one, and IE7 on the other. VMWare is ok too, but harder to maintain on Linux.
I will be thrilled when the day comes that we can safely ignore the poor sods who still think IE6 is a viable browser (and IE7 isn't much better).
