The same general rules should apply.
If you feel they are acting unscrupulously, you can lodge a complaint both with their upstream DNS provider and their payment provider. Both are good leverage points to get their attention. *Getting your domain back* If you have the email address that your domain was registered with, it should be no trouble to transfer the domain to a reputable provider. My friends have been stung by these guys too - just one more in the list I guess. I'm helping them transfer their domain away to a real operation now. We were lucky - FTP login still gave us access to the email and website - so once we get the domain recovered we'll have only lost a bit of time and a year of domain fees to experience. * One approach to transferring a domain from PG <http://miketolland.com/2007/09/12/pagesgarden-transfer-help/> (your situation may differ - this won't work if you can't log in) *Stopping PagesGarden* InterNIC maintains a list of contact details for all accredited registrars. See http://www.internic.net/registrars/registrar-303.html - email and phone details right there. Note that this is NOT the same organisation as PagesGarden - they are a supplier. You wouldn't blame PagesGarden's power company for their unscrupulous behaviour, so don't blame their domain registrar either. If you make a reasonable and polite complaint to PublicDomainRegistry about PagesGarden, you will probably find them quite helpful. It's in their interests not to deal with bad guys. Their email Likewise, make a reasonable and polite complaint to the organisation you paid PagesGarden through (eg 2CheckOut, Visa, Paypal). Explain that despite being charged, you were denied service, and would like to engage in their dispute resolution process. Update: dewhead suggests also contacting their hosting provider, The Planet - [EMAIL PROTECTED] / [EMAIL PROTECTED] - let them know you've been scammed for services, give them payment details and contact details for PagesGarden, and ask them what their dispute resolution process is. By applying pressure at those two points - funds and services - we might be able to stop these guys from harming others like yourselves. It will take everyone who has posted here, and everyone else reading it and thinking "me too", to actually step up and take action in order to effect some change. * InterNIC registrar complaints <http://reports.internic.net/cgi/registrars/problem-report.cgi> - NOT A DISPUTE RESOLUTION PROCESS * 2Checkout dispute resolution process <http://www.2checkout.com/community/blog/knowledge-base/suppliers/sales-management/issuing-refunds/what-are-2checkouts-refund-and-dispute-policies/> --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ NZ PHP Users Group: http://groups.google.com/group/nzphpug To post, send email to [email protected] To unsubscribe, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
