I pulled my mate off them last year as they were telling me they "were in the process of building a PHP 5 server and ETA is 2 weeks". That was extended another 2 weeks, then another, then "We are having technical issues implementing our PHP5 server" with an "indefinately" thrown in somewhere in the email. We just got sick of it and threw his site up on Webdrive. I'll be pulling a couple new clients off them soon too.
I find it hard to believe that a PHP host wishing to continue doing business would simply decide not to support PHP 5, or make it difficult for customers to use PHP 5. I may be lost in my own little world of decent servers here, but I figured PHP 4 is pretty much totally obsolete. It's what - a decade old now? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Michael Adams" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, March 19, 2009 5:35 PM Subject: [phpug] Re: Hosting Query > > > Egg on face - when i asked last year the reply was "we do not have any > plan to upgrade".
