I have done something like that for a restaurant. Although in mycase I
convinced the owner to let me write their desktop software aswell that
does billing. I am guessing the theatre booking system would be
something similar.

@Richard:What you say make sense, i thought of something similar, then
ditched the idea as I could not see any revenues in something like
this :-)
