I've done a number of Drupal installs using Ubercart. You mention
multi-currency and I wonder what your expectations are. I recently
set up a site to enable the currency to be user specific throughout
their entire shopping experience, from add to cart, right through the
checkout and onto invoices. I succeeded but I wouldn't recommend it:
http://drupal.org/node/770948 . The multi-currency module in its
current form is not a good solution at all. I had to substantially
rewrite it.

Regarding Ubercart, I understand that there have been some political
ructions and the lead developer is branching out on his own for the
next version (http://drupal.org/project/commerce) and in fact does not
have right of use to the Ubercart name which is continuing on:
http://www.ubercart.org/news/apr-17-2010/ubercart_30_alpha_1_released
which is, as stated on the can, just a D7 port and nothing more. On
the other hand Ryan at drupalcommerce is doing a complete rewrite.
There are probably several episodes of soap drama behind this split
but if anyone has worked with Ubercart they will know how much Ryan
has had to do with its development. Having worked with Ubercart for 2
years myself, I can tell you that it has become quite entangled.

Just something to bear in mind. I figure that it will be 6-12 months
before D7 and this module will be ready. Meanwhile D6 and Ubercart
are good solutions. +1
