I checked out a few of the links that were posted earlier in this
discussion, and I noticed one of them had a tool for doing exactly this.

email marketers. I've spent a couple of days digging around for
this a while back. Even the background="" attribute is no good.
Use this as a breakdown for CSS support. Note that Gmail is very
similar to to Outlook 2007. Also be aware that Gmail (and some
other web clients) strip out the <head> tag completely. CSS needs
to be inline as best practice. The code you sent will have limited
styling in Gmail.
