I use vmware fusion for mac and Utilu IE collection and Utilu Firefox collection to install all instances of all those browsers alongside in the same VM. Unity mode on VMware allows me to add icons to my mac dock for the IE and FF versions I need which auto fires up the VM in the background and make it look like a native app. I do notice a few issues with this utilu package of the older browsers, e..g no address bar on IE6, so have to do file open and type URL, but it's a nice enough solution to my testing requirements without having 3 or 4 fat VMs lying around.
