We've been assessing it too - it's basically a little application that the client downloads as a browser plugin. This app embeds IE, and drives the client through the process of logging into their own online banking website and doing a direct bank transfer. The big advantage of it from a merchant's point of view is that it bypasses most of the costs of credit cards - no special merchant account, no PCI compliance, no such thing as chargebacks. >From the point of view of a customer the downsides are that you have to install a weird and dodgy-looking component, it's Windows only, you have to log into your online banking through a weird component, and there's no such thing as chargebacks - once you send the money, it's gone. Upside, you don't need a credit card, only online banking. -- NZ PHP Users Group: http://groups.google.com/group/nzphpug To post, send email to [email protected] To unsubscribe, send email to [email protected]
