angela resolved OAK-250.

Resolution: Fixed
added check for the Session and Workspace operations mentioned above.
Session.removeItem is still inherited from AbstractSession and just
does Item.remove().
resolving for now... please reopen or create specific issues if there
are still methods left that should check for protected items.
