Tommaso Teofili commented on OAK-307:
-------------------------------------
some updates on the status of this.
it currently counts 3 modules:
* _oak-solr-core_: which contains Solr based _QueryIndex_, _IndexHook_,
_CommitHook_, _Observer_ plus interfaces for connecting to Solr.
* _oak-solr-remote_: which contains an OSGi service for connecting to remote
Solr instances
* _oak-solr-embedded_: which contains an OSGi service for running an embedded
Solr instance either with or without HTTP bindings.
what is missing:
* fix / implements some methods for:
** executing range queries
** automatically create Oak core/collection onto the connected Solr instances
if needed
** indexing when property additions/changes occur
what I'm working on:
* making it work in a basic OSGi setup (I plan to create a wiki page for it
soon)
> Oak/Solr integration

> Key: OAK-307

> Project: Jackrabbit Oak
> Issue Type: New Feature
> Components: query
> Reporter: Tommaso Teofili
> Priority: Minor
>
> I plan to provide a patch for integrating Apache Solr into Apache Oak.
> This feature should include: a mechanism for automatically index Oak content
> into Solr so that it can be queried separately, a MK implementation based on
> Solr, an extension to Oak queries which enables to use search on Solr
> internally.
