Tommaso Teofili commented on OAK-307:
-------------------------------------
bq. There haven't been any updates on this ticket in a while. This feature to
me solves the biggest pain point I have with Jackrabbit today.
first thing: this is a "container" issue with specific tasks (some of which
still needs to be solved), if you need something specific or if you've found
any issue then it'd be great if you can provide feedback / patches.
second thing: unfortunately I haven't been able to work on this in the last
weeks but I should be able to come back on this topic in the next months,
however, as always, anyone is welcome to join to help on this specific task or
others.
bq. BTW afaik the goal was to also enable other plugins like ElasticSearch.
Anyone aware of someone looking into ES support?
I think that is a different thing, even if related; we talked about off
repository indexes every now and then (e.g. for async indexing) on the mailing
list, however, IMHO, it'd be better to concentrate on having the Solr plugin
fully working before adding more unless someone has a significant amount of
time to spend on it (which would be good indeed :) )

> Project: Jackrabbit Oak
> Issue Type: New Feature
> Components: oak-solr
> Reporter: Tommaso Teofili
> Assignee: Tommaso Teofili
> Priority: Minor
>
> I plan to provide a patch for integrating Apache Solr into Apache Oak.
> This feature should include: a mechanism for automatically index Oak content
> into Solr so that it can be queried separately, a MK implementation based on
> Solr, an extension to Oak queries which enables to use search on Solr
> internally.
