Yes, testing the MongoMK is a side effect.

OK, let's try that for now. I guess we will have to revisit once we want to
persist the data. And I guess at some point the SegmentNodeStore will also have
a background thread, and benefit from stopping it explicitly. Or benefit from
closing the files :-)
