for which you need the {{EventJournal}} functionality? It would be especially 
useful to know how long do you need past events to be kept around. Also, do you 
need accurate PERSIST boundaries or millisecond-level event timestamps? If not, 
would it be fine for example for the repository to bundle up all changes per 
hour or per day into "super-commits" that would appear at fixed intervals in 
the event journal?
