I see it as a debug feature too, or at lease that will be used mainly
for debug or performance analysis. On the other hand I don't like
exposing yet another configuration feature as it could be easily be
forgotten in the index definition and slowing down.
I like to column approach as it makes it easy to extract the query you
want to analyse and bump it in any query tool looking then for the
output.
